Joe Plehal is a dedicated salesperson with over 20 years of experience at Tates. Joe prides himself on customer service. He says that after growing up in the back of a gas station in small town Idaho, customer service is ingrained in his DNA. Throughout Joe’s tenure at Tates, Joe has focused on building and maintaining strong client relationships He attributes his success to communication, trust, and commitment with customers.
Joe’s rental specialty spans all project phases and needs with an emphasis in general contractors through his 20+ years of experience. “I love rental because I don’t have to actually use the tools and I really appreciate the customers that make it a fun, and fast-paced work environment.”

Garrett Rose began his journey with Tates in 2009 at our Fairview location. Over the years, Garrett has been to various locations, including Fairview, Broadway, Orchard, and Idaho Street.
Garrett’s rental specialty are those obscure pieces of equipment that you need to get the job done, as well as construction heat. “The thing I love most about the rental industry is helping our customers get their jobs done and to see a project go from dirt to a finished building.”
In 2019, Garrett embarked on a new challenge by establishing our dispatch center. His latest venture began in May 2024 when he transitioned into sales, a role in which he is already thriving and bringing his extensive experience to our customers.
Originally from Idaho Falls, Garrett has called Boise home since 2008. He and his wife, Megan, have been together since 2015 and are proud parents to three wonderful children. Outside of work, Garrett enjoys a variety of hobbies, including golfing, camping, gardening, and watching baseball.
With over six years of experience at Tates Rents, Hunter Fiscus has become known for his ability to get things done and his passion for problem-solving. Hunter thrives in fast-paced environments and relishes tackling challenges head-on. His enthusiasm for working with dynamic teams to achieve remarkable results is truly inspiring.
Hunter’s rental specialty is anything that has to do with construction equipment. “What I love about rental is the relationships I have been able to build. The people you meet and get to talk to make this field very exciting.”
Outside of his professional life, Hunter finds joy and relaxation in the great outdoors. He is an avid golfer, enjoying the pursuit of the perfect shot and the camaraderie that comes with playing with friends. Additionally, he loves fishing, where he embraces the tranquility of casting lines and waiting for a bite. For Hunter, the outdoors is a playground where every moment offers a chance to connect with nature and unwind.
Hunter’s philosophy is about finding the perfect balance between work and play. He believes in knowing when to put our noses to the grindstone and when to kick up our heels and let loose. This harmony is what makes life truly enjoyable.

Outside of work, Chris indulges in his love for hockey and golf. Whether he’s on the ice chasing pucks or on the green sinking putts, he finds joy and relaxation in these activities. When he’s not engaged in sports, Chris treasures quality time with his wife and their furry companion, Murphy. They are his rocks and his everything.
Chris understands the importance of balancing work and play. It’s this balance that keeps him motivated and fuels his drive to make every day count. Whether he’s helping a customer at Tates Rents or spending time with his loved ones, Chris gives it his all, and then some.
Trent Lyons joined the Tates Rents family nearly two years ago, bringing with him a commitment to continuous learning, problem-solving, and fostering a positive and productive environment. His dedication to excellence ensures that every day is an opportunity to grow and serve our customers better.
Outside of work, Trent is an avid sports fan with a wide range of interests including golf, soccer, basketball, and his main passion, motocross. Whether he’s watching races or hitting the trails and tracks himself, motocross is where he finds a lot of his off-duty enjoyment.
Trent’s philosophy is to keep things enjoyable, no matter where he finds himself. His positive attitude and enthusiasm for both his professional and personal life make him a valuable member of our team and a joy to work with.
